Steven MessnerSteve Messner has 30 years of experience in the US and 13 foreign countries in the fields of GHG emissions accounting, adaptation to climate change, corporate sustainability and environmental management, and strategic planning. His industry sector experience includes oil & gas production and refining, steel and aluminum production and manufacturing, mining, banking, seaports, and municipal, State and Federal government. His work experience includes 16 years in industry in environmental compliance management including the developing of ISO 14001 management systems in several countries.
Steve has authored or co-authored a number of publications on adaptation to climate change for Climatic Change Journal, several other publications and professional conferences. Steve has lectured at the London School of Economics and Stanford University. He currently serves on the GHG Verification Advisory Committee of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Steve also served as the UK Government’s expert on project methodologies for the development of the ISO 14064 standards for GHG emissions reporting. He also been closely involved with the California environmental policy scene for many years and has been a member of the California Environmental Dialogue since 2007. Steve has a B.S. degree in Energy Resources (formerly Petroleum) Engineering from Stanford University. |
