Port of Oakland, Energy Innovation Planning. Leading policy and stakeholder activities to develop a roadmap for energy technology and business innovation over the next fifteen years (subcontractor to Burns and McDonnell)
Florida Utility Sustainability Strategy. Lead engagement to develop strategies, plans and demonstration
projects in energy efficiency, solar and alternative fueled/electric vehicles.
Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD). Supported SMUD to develop a corporate strategy to develop their utility
business to meet climate action goals. Helped establish corporate vision, objectives, and options to meet goals. This project developed future scenarios for climate regulation, renewables, energy demand, energy supply, and pricing and then analyzed and modeled strategic options to achieve climate and related goals, including renewable energy mandates and goals.
California Utility Microgrid Strategy. Providing project management and consulting services on a multi-million dollar microgrid demonstration
project for a major utility in California. Goals are to provide customer and utility economic and reliability benefits, such as opportunities for increased solar energy generation and use, and enhanced demand side management. (Subcontractor to Green Energy Corporation)
Product Development. For a California IOU, serving as a senior consultant to a project to identify, evaluate and demonstrate the next generation of customer products and devices that leverage smart grid connectivity. (Subcontractor to Green Energy Corporation)
California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). Led Local Government Energy Action Report/Plan. Action Plan identifies
successful strategies, approaches, and practices used by local governments to enhance their communities’ long‐term capacity to use energy more efficiently and to reduce climate impacts. The report provides recommendations on the types of goals and implementing actions that are needed to achieve the state’s energy efficiency strategic vision. Conducted more than 30 in‐depth interviews of managers at municipal utilities, cities and IOUs throughout the state.
